Tolerância social em Portugal: como a ideologia influencia a tolerância face a imigrantes

Abstract

Com o objetivo de entender a tolerância social em Portugal, face a imigrantes, a presente dissertação debruça-se sobre o papel explicativo da ideologia. Para tal, a nível metodológico, procede-se a uma regressão linear, entre o posicionamento ideológico, sobre diversas perspetivas, e a tolerância face à imigração em 2008 e 2012. O objetivo maior foi perceber como a ideologia dos indivíduos pode influenciar a tolerância face a este fenómeno. O objetivo segundo foi verificar se a crise económica e social altera os níveis de tolerância face aos imigrantes, e ainda, o poder explicativo da ideologia destas atitudes. Os resultados apresentados mostraram que a ideologia de um modo geral mostrou ser apenas parcialmente significativa perante a tolerância social.

With the aim of understanding social tolerance in Portugal, in the face of immigrants, this dissertation focuses on the explanatory role of ideology. To that end, at a methodological level, there is a linear regression between the ideological positioning on different perspectives and the tolerance towards immigration in 2008 and 2012. The main objective was to understand how the ideology of individuals can influence tolerance towards this phenomenon. The second objective was to verify if the economic and social crisis changes the levels of tolerance towards immigrants, and also, the explanatory power of the ideology of these attitudes. The results presented showed that the ideology in general has shown to be only partially significant in the face of social tolerance.
