Transformação do papel do homem na vida familiar e na paternidade

Abstract

A instituição familiar tem vindo a sofrer transformações a vários níveis nas suas diferentes dimensões e essas alterações são objeto de estudo para a Sociologia. Este estudo pretende dar o seu contributo procurando compreender normas, representações e práticas da paternidade, considerando as perceções da paternidade; as expectativas sobre a mesma; as práticas quotidianas; o tempo dedicado à profissão; e o tempo dedicado às tarefas domésticas. Para tal, foi escolhida uma metodologia qualitativa, operacionalizada através da realização de 12 entrevistas semi-diretivas, presenciais e individuais. A análise e discussão dos resultados da pesquisa permitiu concluir que as vivências e as experiências da paternidade assumem hoje um caráter fortemente afetivo. As práticas quotidianas, por parte dos homens, vão ao encontro dessas representações parentais mais afetivas e são, também, evidentes nas novas formas de organização familiar, levando a uma nova e maior disponibilidade por parte dos homens, nas práticas quotidianas, tanto ao nível doméstico como no cuidar dos filhos.

The family institution has been suffering changes at diferent levels in its diferents dimensions and these changes are study object to Sociology and sociologists. The present work wants to give a contribution for that, seeking to understand the new identity of man throught the new rules, representations and pratices of paternity. This research is based in three goals perception of paternity, expectations about parternity, daily pratices, and the time devoted to the profession, the time devoted to housework, to obtain these results. For that, it was chosen a qualitative methodoly, with 12 interviews semi-directives, face-to-face and individual ones, to get more specific and detailed information about the study subjects. After the analysis and debate of the results of research, the conclusion is that the experiences of paternity are nowadays more afective, comparing with it was some years ago. The daily pratices, by men, meet the more affective parental representations and they are evident in the new ways of familiar organization, with a new and bigger availability of men in daily pratices, at the domestic level at home and in the childcare.
