Teatro de revista amador e democracia cultural: O caso da associação cultural "Os Combatentes" em Lisboa

Abstract

A Revista à Portuguesa, que é a expressão do Teatro de Revista em Portugal, reflete sobre a identidade, a história e a cultura popular portuguesa. O percurso deste teatro acompanha as transformações económicas, culturais e políticas ocorridas em Portugal, ao longo da história. Atualmente, o Teatro de Revista profissional é exibido no Teatro Maria Vitória, em Lisboa, sobrevivendo às modificações e dinâmicas de gentrificação da cidade de Lisboa, e às remodelações dos edifícios que o rodeiam, no Parque Mayer. Neste estudo, analisa-se o Teatro de Revista, em particular o teatro amador, e como este tem sobrevivido por intermédio das associações culturais, localizadas nos bairros lisboetas, onde os espetáculos são produzidos e apresentados, circulando depois por todo o país. Estes grupos de teatro constituem-se de forma voluntária, por pessoas com diferentes backgrounds sociais e idades, revelando a sua paixão pelo Teatro de Revista. O trabalho destas organizações e as pessoas que fazem este tipo de teatro são o foco deste estudo.

The Revista à Portuguesa, the portuguese expression of the Teatro de Revista, reflects on portuguese identity, history, and popular culture. It has followed the economic, cultural and political changes that have taken place in Portugal throughout history. Today, the professional Teatro de Revista is performed at the Teatro Maria Vitória, surviving the changes and dynamics of the gentrification of the city of Lisbon and the renovation of the surrounding buildings in Parque Mayer. This study focuses on the Teatro de Revista, particularly on amateur theater, and how it has survived through cultural organizations located in Lisbon's neighborhoods, where shows are produced and performed, then circulated throughout the country. These theater groups are formed voluntarily, by people of different social backgrounds and ages, who show their passion for Teatro de Revista. The work of these organizations and the people who create this type of theatre are the focus of this study.
