Criação de um projeto educativo para a promoção da saúde sexual feminina em São Tomé e Príncipe: Bençon di Sebe

Abstract

O projeto tem como principal objetivo capacitar crianças e jovens de Caixão Grande, localidade no norte da Ilha de São Tomé, em São Tomé e Príncipe, na área da saúde sexual e reprodutiva. Para tal, procura-se compreender as necessidades locais da comunidade e, a partir daí, abordar práticas relacionadas com a gestão menstrual, saúde íntima e métodos contracetivos. Essas necessidades e as questões sociais, económicas e culturais que afetam o acesso à educação e à saúde sexual e reprodutiva são identificadas através de entrevistas informais e da observação participante durante o trabalho de campo em São Tomé e Príncipe. O projeto procura, pelo seu alcance, promover a igualdade de género, a educação inclusiva e abrangente, a saúde de elevada qualidade e a redução das desigualdades, alinhando-se aos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável da Agenda 2030.

The main aim of the project is to train children and young people from Caixão Grande, a town in the north of São Tomé Island, in São Tomé and Príncipe, in the area of sexual and reproductive health. The aim is to understand the local needs of the community and, from there, address practices related to menstrual management, intimate health and contraceptive methods. These needs and the social, economic and cultural issues that affect access to education and sexual and reproductive health are identified through informal interviews and participant observation during fieldwork in São Tomé and Príncipe. Through its scope, the project seeks to promote gender equality, inclusive and comprehensive education, high-quality health and the reduction of inequalities, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
